Like so many sexual assault victims and survivors, Carroll’s ongoing pursuit of justice, the court proceedings and the response of her alleged abuser have been re-traumatizing. It was unclear, to the end, which way the jury would go in the E. Jean Carroll v. Donald J. Trump trial. Trump's team released a long statement in response to the verdict, also calling the verdict a "witch-hunt of President Trump."
